Mother's Day part one

Happy Monday all! Hope those of you that are mom's had the greatest day yesterday! Mine was pretty much perfect. Homemade breakfast. Thoughtful, pretty, sweet gifts. Dinner out with my in-laws. Time on the tennis court with two of my kiddos. Chocolate milkshakes to end the day!

Today I have the card that I made for my mom. The inspiration for this came from one of the challenges over at Studio Calico, click HERE to see the mood board. As you can see I went with the color scheme, pops of gold, watercolor, stripes and florals.

I started my masking off the background stripes and then watercolor painted them in. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold and then cut out the word happy and popped it up with pop dots.

The flowers were die cut, stamped and then the darker pink areas were done with a pink glitter pen. Lastly a couple of gold sequins. For the finishing touch I made a matching envelope.

Stamps are from Papertrey Ink, Ink from Studio Calico, paper for envelope is from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for taking a peek today. Come back tomorrow for part two, the cards that I made for my mother -in-law and grandmother-in-law.

Wow - beautiful! I love the blue stripes. I'll have to try that technique!
