PTI Blog Hop

It's that time of the month...the Papertrey Ink blog hop. This month the inspiration is all about wreaths. Instead of using a wreath image on a project I took the inspiration photos quite literally and chose to make a Halloween wreath.

I started with an assortment of PTI patterned papers...

Then I threw in the Star Spangled impression plate, Tremendous Treats Halloween die cuts, Star Gazer Dies, and the 2009 Halloween Tags stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by to see my project, I look forward to seeing what every one else has created!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday

Found some extra time on my hands and decided to participate in the Make it Monday challenge hosted by Papertrey Ink. This one was to use layered die cuts on your project. HERE is the video that Dawn posted for this particular challenge.

I pulled out my Mum's the Word stamp set and my Edgers #2 die set for this. I chose to go with some fall colors: kraft, terra-cotta tile, royal velvet and scarlet jewel.

For the silk ribbon I chose to hand die it using some Maya Road mists. Can you see the peek of the strip of glitter behind the silk ribbon? IMO glitter makes everything a bit better!

I chose to put my sentiment on the inside as I felt the front of the card was busy enough and needed nothing else.

Thanks for taking a peek today!!!

While the boys were away...

the girls played!

For the last couple of years, right after school has let out for the summer, my husband has taken the boys and gone on a little road trip to North Dakota. While they were gone I wanted to document the time that my daughter and I spent together. We started with a list of things that she wanted to do and then just worked our way through that list.

This layout was made using My Mind's Eye Kate & Co.- Cambridge Court.

The green arrow border around my grid is washi tape.

Stamped the little hearts and then embellished them with enamel dots.

Love me some girl time with my little one!!!!

Card share

Found some spare time on my hands a couple of weeks ago, no assignments due. So, I pulled out some of my latest Papertrey Ink stamps and dies and made some cards just because.

As you can tell I really got into using the positive and the negative of the die cuts...more bang for your buck that way!

The best hair

Hi there! Happy hump day! Today I have a layout that uses My Mind's Eye - Cut & Paste Adorbs collection. Such fun and happy colors in this line, and since I love bright colors it's an easy one for me to work with.

My daughter has this head of hair that many women pay a lot of money to have. This beautiful brown with these golden highlights that frame her face. Not to mention the fact that it is super thick and wavy.

For this layout I really wanted to focus on using the stamp set.  To achieve the glitter stamped arrows I simply stamped them with a glue pad, sprinkled on the glitter, and then sprayed them with a sealant.

See that super skinny pink striped washi tape??? I LOVE that!

For the frame in the center of this stamp set I colored it in with a turquoise spica pen, in real life it has a pretty sparkle to it.

WHEW!!!!!!!!

It feels so good to be home and to listen to the silence! It's been a whirlwind last 3 weeks for me. We were out of town for two weeks and came home the evening before school started. I got the kids ready for school, sent them on their way, bought groceries, did laundry, got the house ready for my parents and then my husband and I left the next morning at 4:30 (Thank you Laura!!!!) for a four day weekend in North Dakota for a family wedding. We got home last night, kiddos went to school this morning, my parents left (thanks Nana and Baba!!!!) and now I am home and it is peaceful!!!!

I have lots to share with you over the next few days. Today is a Simple Stories share, followed later this week by some My Mind's Eye projects and some just for fun Papertrey Ink projects.

First up a layout...both of today's projects feature the new Smarty Pants collection.

When I made this layout school hadn't started for us yet, so I was lacking in the school photo department. My goal...to make a sporty layout using a  school themed collection. I'm happy with the way it turned out!

and the card....I love those chipboard glasses!!!!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

I'm off to do laundry and errands.
